Gift

I truly believe that one of the greatest gifts parents can give to their child is a sibling.  I was able to spend a few precious hours with one of my siblings this last weekend, and I am reminded of what a gift she is in my life.  The best kind of a gift - a loving sister, and really, a best friend.

I hope Madeline and Benson will feel the same way towards one another as they grow together.  They're off to a good start.  I love the love that they share already.

I love how his eyes follow her around the room always.  I love how he laughs in a jovial way reserved only for her.

I love how she hurts when he cries, how he brings out her innate motherly instincts, and how much happier she is in a home she shares with another child.

Warmth

Our 57 degree afternoon was spent at the park today.  Could our long days holed up in the house be coming to an end?  

I feel like I missed out on last summer, with being hugely pregnant, having a newborn, and all.  I'm not going to let the warm weather pass me by this year.  I'm already preparing Madeline that we will be OUTSIDE all day long, all summer long.  In typical Madeline fashion, she keeps coming up with excuses as to why we will need to be in the house sometimes.  That girl, I tell you.

I can think of no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
