Halloween Mania

We went to the Dallas Arboretum last week with some friends, mostly as an excuse to dress our babies up in their Halloween costumes and take cute pictures.

Madeline loved Natalie's tutu!

It was the first time I'd been to the Dallas Arboretum, and it was really beautiful. I decided that day that we really need to take advantage of the opportunities for fun in DFW. I'm amazed at how little we've done in the 2 1/2 years we've been here.

Scott and I carved a pumpkin the night before Halloween after we put Madeline to bed. Most of my motivation came from wanting to roast the seeds. Unfortunately, I roasted them a little bit too long, although they were still edible. I figured if I was going to cut the top of the pumpkin off to get the seeds, I might as well carve a face on it. Madeline was pretty exited to see the Jack'o'lantern in the middle of our living room floor when she got up in the morning. She spent a lot of time playing with it that day.

We also went to vote on Halloween. I have no desire to wait in a long line with a baby on Tuesday. There was still a line on Friday, but the whole process only took about 40 minutes, which was reasonable. I'm exited for election season to be over.

On Saturday night we went to our ward's Harvest Carnival, which provided yet another venue for Madeline to wear her costume. She tried chili for the first time while we were there, and it was a hit!
